Mom of the Month: Amy S.

Say hello to our February Mom Of The Month, Amy S.! She's the kind of mama you meet and just feel energized by her positivity, kindness, and joy. She enjoys her 2 kids and her husband, fully embracing those Family Strides days together on Saturday mornings. She's also got fabulous adventure stories to share, and is always one to offer up mama advice to families getting ready to travel someplace new.

Hometown: Nanjing, China

Who is in your family? My tea-loving husband from the UK - Chris, and my two sons, Oscar - 5 and Elliot - 3.

Why did you first come to FIT4MOM? I used to do a lot of sports, badminton, climbing, tennis and volleyball. Life changed quite a bit after two kids - I found myself lacking the time, motivation and community to do the same things to keep fit and have fun. That's when I found FIT4MOM, just by chance and happened to be living near Doyle Hollis Park where classes were happening twice a week. It was just what I needed, fun and fitness!

What is your favorite part of class or favorite class format? I like the whole-body workout, and a combination of HIIT and strength. I also really appreciate the friendly and supportive community of mamas.

What are your favorite places to go and/or activities to do together as a family? We go to the Public Market in Emeryville every Thursday night, religiously, where my boys devour a pizza in 5 minutes. We also love cycling to different playgrounds and libraries on the weekends. We are a family of foodies - I'm grateful that my kids are curious eaters and we get to try new food and restaurants together!

What is your favorite self care activity? I love doing a bit of Yoga, even just a 10 minute morning routine to start the day. At the end of the day, putting on a calming face mask after the kids have fallen asleep.
