We provide opportunities to learn and improve your running techniques through our detailed training plans, coaching, and community support.
Beginners & Seasoned Runners are welcome!
You’ll follow a supportive training plan for a 5K, 10K, or longer distance, with experienced coaches helping you build endurance, confidence, and strength through a smart mix of running and cross-training. No pressure, no comparison — just progress at your own pace.
Our weekly runs are laid-back and family-friendly — show up solo or bring your tiny hype squad along in a jogging stroller. No wrong choice here. We switch up run locations around El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, and beyond — choosing spots that are just as fun for little riders as they are for moms, and perfect for discovering new neighborhood favorites from the stroller lane.
But Run Club+ is more than a training plan. It’s a community of moms cheering you on every step of the way. Through group runs, fun challenges, and encouragement from women who truly get this season of life, you’ll build friendships alongside your fitness. We’ll help you set a goal that feels right for you — and celebrate every win together, big or small.

Run Club+ FAQs
- What if I have not run since before I had my baby or if I have never run at all?
- Our Run Club coaches will lead you to your first mile! Whether it is your first mile ever, or your first mile post-baby, Run Club is appropriate for all levels.
- Can I bring my child with me to run club?
- Yes! Run Club run locations are always jogging stroller friendly. Any child that joins you for Run Club should be safely secured in a jogging stroller.
- Do I need a jogging stroller? Can't I just use my regular walking stroller for running?
- For short jogs or occasional bursts, like during Stroller Strides or Strides 360, many parents do — but for extended mileage, consistent running, or group runs, a true jogging stroller is strongly recommended. Jogging strollers are designed specifically for speed, stability, and safety. For Run Club+, we do ask that you use a jogging stroller, it can make running feel safer, smoother, and far more enjoyable.

Have you ever heard another mom say something like, “running saved my life” and wondered what she meant? She probably was referring to the amount of mental clarity she receives after a great movement session!
That's right, Mama... running helps you physically, but did you know that running can actually help you emotionally and mentally, too? Yes, the fabled “runner’s high” is real!
Studies have shown that cardio training—like running—helps moms of all ages and stages of motherhood reduce the risk of anxiety, depression, dementia, and insomnia. Exercise produces neurotransmitters such as epinephrine, serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. These fun molecules influence your energy levels, thoughts, and emotions. In fact, norepinephrine is the chemical that helps moderate the brain's response to stress, helping you release some of the mental strain of mom life (yes, please!).
Additionally, studies show that running can help you improve overall brain performance—think decision-making, higher thinking, productivity, creativity, and learning.

One of the most common questions I hear before every Run Club season is: “Do I need a jogging stroller… and can I buy one used?”
The short answer? Yes — and yes.
Why a Jogging Stroller Matters for Longer Runs
"Can't I just use my regular walking stroller for running?” For short jogs or occasional bursts, like during Stroller Strides or Strides 360, many parents do — but for extended mileage, consistent running, or group runs, a true jogging stroller is strongly recommended.
Jogging strollers are designed specifically for speed, stability, and safety. Key differences include:
- Larger, air-filled tires that absorb shock and roll smoothly over pavement, cracks, and uneven paths
- A fixed or lockable front wheel, which helps the stroller track straight at higher speeds
- Improved suspension systems that reduce impact for both parent and child
- Stronger frames and better braking, especially important on hills and longer routes
Standard walking strollers are built for maneuverability at slow speeds — quick turns, errands, and strolls. When used for longer runs, they can feel harder to control, transmit more vibration, and fatigue your arms and shoulders faster.
